STEM Passport for Inclusion Graduation Ceremony
The STEM Passport for Inclusion Graduation Ceremony was held on 19 October in the Concert Hall at TU Dublin’s East Quad, Grangegorman. The event brought together more than 100 students, teachers, mentors and guests to celebrate the achievements of Transition Year students who successfully completed the programme.
The STEM Passport for Inclusion programme is designed to encourage and support young people from underrepresented backgrounds to consider future pathways in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Through engagement with industry mentors, interactive workshops and a variety of skills-development activities, students gain valuable experience, build confidence and develop a greater understanding of STEM education and career opportunities.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to recognise the dedication, commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by the students throughout the programme. Participants were presented with certificates in recognition of their achievements, and the event showcased the positive impact of the initiative in fostering confidence, ambition and engagement among young people.
The STEM Passport for Inclusion is a national programme led by Maynooth University delivered at TU Dublin through a collaborative partnership between TU Dublin’s Access and Outreach, the School of Physics, Clinical and Optometric Sciences. This national programme is funded by Research Ireland, the Department of Education and Youth and industry partners. It reflects TU Dublin’s shared commitment to widening participation and creating meaningful educational opportunities. Its success was supported by participating schools, industry mentors, student volunteers, guest speakers and TU Dublin colleagues, all of whom played an important role in creating a rewarding and memorable experience for students.
As this year’s graduates continue their educational journeys, TU Dublin remains committed to building on these partnerships and inspiring the next generation of STEM talent through inclusive, accessible and impactful learning opportunities.
