Creating Equal Opportunities
At TU Dublin, we believe that access to education should never be limited by financial hardship. Through initiatives like the Exceptional Circumstances Fund and a wide range of scholarships, we provide direct and timely support to students facing financial challenges. Whether it is emergency assistance or recognition of academic dedication, our goal is to ensure every student can thrive and focus on their future.
Access to education changes lives and our students may occasionally find themselves in difficult financial situations that create a barrier to their studies, ones which require immediate assistance.
This fund helps students whose needs go beyond the aid available elsewhere, providing direct support to those experiencing extreme and immediate financial difficulty. It is open to the entire student body, including our apprentices and international students, across all our campuses.
In 2024, the Exceptional Circumstances Fund supported 45 students, providing a total of €24,226.67 in aid, with a median gift of €500 per student.
Applications are reviewed by a panel of TU Dublin staff members, chaired by the Head of Student Support and Wellbeing. This support is sent directly to the student, often on the same day they have let us know their need.
TU Dublin Foundation raises financial support to advance the mission of TU Dublin, to facilitate an innovative and caring learning environment for a diverse range and level of programmes to students of all ages and backgrounds. Thanks to the generosity of partner companies, alumni, and private individuals TU Dublin students continue to receive transformative support across a range of disciplines.
Many TU Dublin students seek financial support to allow them to remain in full-time education. Our awards and scholarships reward registered students with proof of progression for their hard work and dedication, and enable them to focus on achieving excellence in their field.
Scholarship applications open in semesters one and two of the academic year.
Registered students will be notified and encouraged by their Lecturers of opportunities to apply to relevant scholarships.
This support has a significant impact on the lives of the student community. We are profoundly grateful to those donors whose generosity has transformed the university experiences for many.
