Faculty of Arts and Humanities
Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at TU Dublin!
We’re delighted to welcome you to one of the most dynamic and diverse faculties in Ireland – a thriving community of over 5,000 students, 145 research scholars, and hundreds of passionate academics and industry professionals.
With a proud history spanning over 135 years, our faculty is built on a tradition of excellence in creative and cultural education. From the School of Art and Design, the Conservatoire, School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology, the School of Media, School of Tourism and Hospitality, School of Social Science, Education and Law, to Language Studies, we bring together a unique mix of disciplines that reflect and shape the world we live in.
Whether you're joining us on our city-centre campus in Grangegorman, or one of our vibrant locations across TU Dublin’s multi-campus network, you’ll find a learning environment that is practice-led, research-informed, and deeply connected to industry and society.
Here, creativity meets real-world experience. Our students don’t just study – they perform, design, publish, exhibit, work, travel, curate, teach, and innovate. They are supported by expert staff who are active practitioners, researchers, and leaders in their fields.
This is an exciting place to be – a place where ideas thrive, careers are launched, and lifelong friendships are made. No matter your background or ambition, we’re here to help you shape your future.
Welcome to your next chapter. Welcome to the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at TU Dublin.
Dr. Orla McDonagh
Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities
