Peter Jones is a lecturer in printmaking, a practising artist, and a founder member of INTERPRINT (international organisation of printmakers and educators). His most recent appointment is on the Dublin City Council Culture Company Advisory Group 2024 - 2027

PeterJones on graduating as a student from NCAD and  UMass Amherst - was asked to develop a Printmaking Workshop at the school. The workshop supports both Fine Art and Design programmes, whilst also hosting international summer schools and workshops based on print research and various other collaborative projects.

Peter Jones has represented Ireland and won many national and international awards, including the Texaco Art Competition; RDS Taylor Art Prize and Henry Higgins Travelling Scholarships; EU Print Project Portugal; The Krakow Print Triennial, Poland and The BP Oil European Painting Award, Belgium.

He exhibits widely and is in many important national and international collections including The Office of Public Works; The Irish State Collection; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation; The World Bank; UNESCO and EU Collection.

Peter Jones has introduced workshops based on his research at many international venues including the Miró Centre, Bilbao Arte and UPV Spain; Caversham Centre and Michaelas Art School, South Africa; The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venice, Italy; Maastricht Institute of  Arts, Netherlands; RIT and UConn USA.

Jones has recently developed transfer and printed approaches to digital mage making on a variety of surfaces.

Research Interests: ‘Photo Collagraph’, ‘Static Electricity ‘ and ‘Tru-Grain Screen Printing’; ‘Roller Applied and Screen Printed Intaglio Photo Emulsions’ and ‘Metal Plate Patinas’.
