The School of Art and Design is housed in the purpose-built East Quad creative arts centre. At nearly 17,000 square meters, this centre has allowed us to increase the size and number of our studios, completely reequip our workshops and provide our students with state of the art technology fit for a 21st-century art school.
The School of Art and Design is comprised of the following two Disciplines

TU Dublin Conservatoire, formally DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama was founded in 1890 as the Dublin Municipal School of Music, with around 50 students. We have grown from being a municipal institution to one that is truly national and international. Now providing the highest quality education across the broadest range of performing arts disciplines in Ireland, to more than 1200 students. The Conservatoireis based on the Grangegorman Campus.

The School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology aims to deliver world-class teaching and learning that will help shape the next generation of leaders in the food and drink sectors. Culinary Arts is a broad vocational and academic area encompassing - on a practical level - the art of preparing, cooking, presenting, and serving food, wine, and beverages, as well as culinary entrepreneurship; underpinned by a theoretical approach including gastronomy, food studies and sociological perspectives on eating and drinking.
With over 500 students, we are the leading provider of education, training and research for the culinary and food-related industries in Ireland.
The School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology is made up of two disciplines:
- Culinary Studies
- Food and Beverage Studies
Our School of Media is Ireland’s oldest and largest school of media, located in three campuses across the city Blanchardstown, Grangegorman and Tallaght where our students have access to high-spec, industry-standard equipment and technology, with guidance from staff who are experts in their field as practitioners, academics and researchers.

Media Arts
TU Dublin Language Studies delivers programmes that combine language learning with the study of Business, Tourism, Computing, and Law. Our Cultural Studies modules are offered as electives on a wide array of programmes across the university. With a reputation for excellence, Language Studies is proud to offer a range of programmes and classes in Chinese, English, French, German, Irish, Italian, and Spanish with an emphasis not only on acquisition, but on culture, literature, linguistics, and film.
The School of Social Scienes, Law and Education has been delivering pogrammes in Social Care, Early Childhood Education, and Law for over 40 years. Each of the disciplines within the school provide a range of full-time and part-time taught programmes (levels 7 and 8). In addition, students of both Law and Social Sciences can pursue taught postgraduate studies as well as research-based awards at masters and doctoral levels (levels 9 and 10).

The School of Tourism & Hospitality Management has evolved and developed with societal, political and economic changes nationally and internationally since its first inception in 1941 as St. Mary's College of Domestic Science. The school now stands as a centre of excellence in education within the hospitality, tourism, sports & leisure and event management sectors.
