Event Management Students Host Live Charity Events
Congratulations to our Year 2, BSc. Event Management students, who hosted their live charity events during this Semester, for the programme and module Event Planning and Production.
Five teams planned and hosted the following events: 'Paint it Pink', a tote painting Galentines event (in Wigwam), in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland. 'Clash for Cause', battle of the bands event and swapshop (in The Soundhouse), in aid of The Sean Shannon Music Foundation. 'Giggle for Good', comedy night (in Wigwam), in aid of Aware Ireland. 'Mystery Masquerade', venetian-themed ball (in Bewley's Cafe), in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. 'Spin2Win', DJ competition (in Wigwam), in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
Over the academic year, each team has put theory into practice and developed their ideas and program of activities, negotiated a venue and price, communicated with venues, speakers and performers, secured sponsors, sold tickets and promoted their events to create a memorable experience for their attendees. Collectively, the group has raised awareness and over €5000 for their chosen charities. Well done to all!
