Field Trip to Molloys Bar and Grill
On Thursday the 5th of March Year 2 of the International Hospitality and Tourism Management Degree were hosted by Mick Burke the General Manager of Molloy's Bar and Grill. Mick gave a master class in cocktail making, demonstrated how to change gas canisters, tap kegs and explained the importance of stock management. He showed us the new Smirnoff vodka keg and integrated dispense system.
Mick discussed trends and the growing popularity of low and zero alcohols to a slight decline in gin as the "new whiskeys" finally mature. He shared clever collaborations with Whiplash and Wicklow Wolf showing the importance of sustainability and supporting Irish craft breweries. We were very grateful for his time and knowledge.
Carol the HR manager also met with the current crew. They are always looking for skilled staff and we are fortunate that two of our students currently work part time in Molloy's while studying on the Tallaght campus.
