Industry
Industry connections are vital to the TU Dublin School of Tourism and Hospitality. Not only is it how we keep our finger on the pulse but it is also how our current students find their work placements and how our graduates explore diverse and exciting careers. We have industry connections all over Ireland from the iconic Guinness Storehouse in Dublin City to the luxurious Ashford Lodge in County Mayo. Many of our industry connections are our former students who have gone on to management positions in stadiums, hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, casinos and resorts.
Our graduates never forget where they learned the skills that allowed them to achieve these high level positions and have been happy to reconnect with us in order to give more people their chance in this dynamic, ever-changing industry. The reverse is also true as we will regularly invite our graduates back to our Grangegorman and Tallaght campuses to give guest lectures to our students, represent their company at career fairs and promote the work placements their organisations offer.
If you are an industry representative looking to connect with us or a graduate eager to reconnect please do! We are always happy to speak with the people in the industry and find out where they think it is going, what it needs to succeed and how we can improve our programmes to reflect that. Employer Testimonials

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club: “Our partnership with TU Dublin has brought some of the brightest, most dedicated hospitality students to Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club. TU Dublin interns consistently demonstrate professionalism, curiosity, and a genuine passion for guest service. Their contributions have enriched our operation—from front-of-house excellence to behind-the-scenes support. After years of partnership with TU Dublin, we are proud to continue supporting their interns’ professional growth and welcoming such exceptional emerging talent to our team.” - Katie Ranson, Director of Human resources, Ocean Edge.

USIT: “At USIT Travel, we’ve had the pleasure of partnering with TU Dublin for many years, and the experience has been consistently outstanding. The students who join us for their work placements bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine interest to learn about the tourism and travel industry. Many have become long-term members of our team, progressing into full-time roles and thriving in their careers. I myself, started in USIT as a TU Dublin student in 2019, joining as an intern while completing my tourism marketing degree. That internship opened the door to an incredible career, gaining experience in different departments, and now I’m proud to be the J1 Summer Work and Travel Operations Manager. As a student-focused organisation, we deeply value this partnership. Hiring from TUD allows us to support emerging talent, provide meaningful industry experience, and help students unlock opportunities to travel and grow. TUD continues to be a trusted source of exceptional candidates, and we look forward to welcoming many more students into the USIT family!" - Hannah McArdle, J1 SWT Operations Manager, USIT.
