David Palmer is an Architectural Technologist and Façade Engineer. He is the founder and CEO of FenestraPro and a serial entrepreneur.

David lectures on the TU831 BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology programme, specialising in building technology, facade engineering and digital modelling of buildings. He also supervises final year undergraduate architectural technology dissertations.

Having graduated from TU Dublin as an Architectural Technologist in 1997, David conceptualised, established and successfully built BuildOnline, which, at the time, was Europe's leading online software solution for the Property and Construction Industry. Backed by Delta Venture Capital, GRP, Goldman Sachs, Banc Boston Capital and Sal Oppenhiem the company developed an online web-based catalogue, file and document management systems and a tendering and procurement platform for the Construction Industry.

As the original founder of the BuildOnline, David worked as Managing Director from 1997 to 1999 during which time the first iterations of the product were built, early adopters were engaged in developing the product and a suite of products was launched to market. With BuildOnline David raised $35m early stage and Venture Capital investment. BuildOnline was eventually sold to a publicly quoted French company.

Having successfully exited BuildOnline in 2001 David founded an architectural practice, Palmer Whelan & Associates, with Simon Whelan. The practice was based in Dublin where he worked as a Senior Architectural Technologist overseeing a number of high profile projects.

Since 2000 David has also worked as part time Lecturer and Research Supervisor in the Dublin School of Architecture, TU Dublin, where he has recently returned from sabbatical and currently lectures on a part time basis.
