Steve Larkin is a practicing musician and architect. He studied architecture at University College Dublin and graduated in 2002. He became a member of the Royal Institute of Architect of Ireland in 2005 and established Steve Larkin Architects in 2007. Since then the practice has been the recipient of a number of national and international awards and commendations including the RIAI Best Emerging Practice Award 2012, RIAI Best House 2012, AAI Awards in 2012 and 2013 and the Architectural Review International House Award 2012. The practice was an Irish nominee for the Mies van der Rohe European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture in 2013. Steve is an Assistant Lecturer in Architecture at TU Dublin and a Lecturer in Architecture at Queens University Belfast. He was an EU Marie Curie ITN ADAPT-r Research Fellow at RMIT Europe 2014 - 2015. He received his PhD at RMIT in 2017 for his practice based research, Interiorities in Oral Cultural Landscapes, under the supervision of Richard Blythe, Jo Van Den Berghe and with special assistance from Leon van Schaik.
