Erasmus & International Exchange

Non-Standard - EU Erasmus Scheme:

The School of Transport and Civil Engineering has recently signed an Erasmus Agreement with the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic) which will provide an opportunity for 3rd year students on the BSc in Sustainable Transport Management to undertake an Erasmus programme and study abroad for a semester, beginning in January 2023. Students on this level 8 course can also do a work placement in Ireland or abroad during their 3rd year of study.

BE(Hons) in Civil Engineering or BE (Hons) in Structural Engineering

Our school currently has an Erasmus exchange programme with Aarhus university in Denmark. Below are some links about Erasmus and the university. This is course has a focus on Water Engineering and is taught in English.

We are also a memebr of EUT+ and can offer students a semester abroad (in Year 3 of the Level 8 programmes) in one of our partner universities noted below.

TU Dublin is signed up to this new agreement for cross-collaboration between seven European universities and at present students of Civil Engineering currently have the option of studying a semester at from the following universities:

Cyprus University of Technology

This course is more suited to Civil Engineering and is mainly taught in Greek, however, the lecturing staff will facilitate English learners.

CYPRUS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (cut.ac.cy)

Technical University of Cartagena [UPCT] (Spain)

This course is more suited to Civil Engineering and is mainly taught in Spanish, however, the lecturing staff will facilitate English learners.

Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (upct.es)

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca [TUCN] (Romania)

This course is more suited to Structural Engineering and is mainly taught in English.

This course is more suited to Civil Engineering and is mainly taught in German. Lecturers speak English and are willing to help with English speaking students.

Other Information

As part of the EU Erasmus Scheme, students from other European Union institutes, with whom there are direct exchange agreements can spend either 1 or 2 semesters in the programme. These exchanges are organised by special arrangement on an individual case basis for 3rd year level 8 programmes.
