Brief biography

Graduated with first class honours from the DIT optometry programme in 2003. Worked in private practice in Ireland & Australia and in Refractive surgery practice between 2003 & 2012. Aoife began a part-time academic role in DIT in 2009 and was appointed a full-time lecturer in 2013.

Post graduate study and supervision

• 2016: PhD ‘The Impact of Corneal Refractive Surgery on the Cornea’
• 2016: Post graduate diploma in Learning and Teaching
• 2020: Co-supervised Dr Orla Murphy in her PhD ‘Investigation and Management of Demodex Folliculorum Blepharitis in Clinical Practice)
