Hourly Paid Opportunities for Practical Supervisors at TU Dublin for 26th January – 8th May 2026
Are you looking for some short term employment, typically for 1 to 2 days a week?
The School of Chemical & BioPharmaceutical Sciences in TU Dublin has a short term need for a panel of hourly-paid staff to supervise practicals in the Chemical and BioPharmaceutical area as well as run a limited number of first year tutorials.
Hourly Paid Assistant Lecturers (HPALs) Panel: Ideally applicants should have three years expertise in Chemistry or BioPharmaceutical at postgraduate level and experience in laboratory-based teaching and should have availability for 2 to 3 days per week from 26th January – 8th May 2026 with breaks as per the TU Dublin academic calendar.
The hours available would mainly involve supervising year 1 and 2 undergraduate laboratory practicals as well as the possibility of giving some first-year tutorials on our Grangegorman and Tallaght Campus. Payment is at a rate of 68.49 euro per teaching hour.
There are also a panel for Senior Demonstrator: This could suit early career researchers at postgraduate level and ideally applicants should have availability 2 to 3 days per week from 26th January – 8th May with breaks as per the TU Dublin academic calendar.
Senior Demonstrators assist an academic staff member or hourly paid assistant lecturer in the running and supervision of undergraduate chemistry laboratories on our Grangegorman and Tallaght Campus. Payment is at a rate of €34.40 euro per teaching hour.
