The School of School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences, TU Dublin currently has a position available for a Research Assistant in environmental analytical chemistry.

Job Description

The school is seeking to appoint a research assistant in Environmental Analytical Chemistry on a fixed term (6 months) specified purpose basis. The post holder will be required to carry our research in characterising organic biopolymer composition, degradation and fate on plants and in soil plots. The candidate will work within the context of the LeafLock project, which aims to develop novel biodegradable and bioabsorbable polymeric 'stickers' to enhance the directed delivery of fungicides and biostimulants, safeguarding crops and improving soil health. The role will include characterisation of synthesised polymers and their degradation profiles using techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy and other analytical techniques and will include designing and running experiments, recording, analysing and writing up the results (as part of a research team).
