Next Generation of Talent Set to Make Its Mark at TU Dublin Graduation
TU Dublin marks a new chapter for its latest cohort of graduates this October, as students from across the University receive their qualifications and prepare to put their knowledge and skills to work in Ireland and internationally.
The Autumn Conferring Ceremonies, taking place at TU Dublin’s Tallaght campus this week with over 5,500 graduates from a wide range of disciplines, including business, engineering, computing, science, health, the built environment, arts and humanities, come together with family, friends and academic staff to celebrate their achievements.
For graduates, the ceremonies represent the culmination of years of study, practical experience and personal commitment. For TU Dublin, they also provide an opportunity to recognise the contribution its graduates make to businesses, public services and communities across Ireland and beyond.
As technology, sustainability and workforce needs evolve, TU Dublin's focus on practical learning and industry collaboration equips graduates with the skills to succeed. Across sectors including engineering, healthcare, business and the creative industries, graduates are well placed to bring fresh perspectives and contribute to Ireland's changing economy.
Speaking ahead of the ceremonies, TU Dublin President Dr Deirdre Lillis congratulated graduates and highlighted the opportunities ahead.
"Graduation marks an important milestone as our students take their knowledge and skills into workplaces and communities across Ireland and beyond. At TU Dublin, our focus on practical learning and industry engagement ensures graduates are well equipped to build successful careers and respond to the changing needs of society. Congratulations to all our graduates and their families today."
While the ceremonies formally recognise academic achievement, they also reflect the different journeys students have taken to reach graduation.
Among those receiving awards are students who have progressed directly from secondary education, mature learners returning to study, apprentices combining education with employment, and postgraduate students advancing their professional expertise.
Many have balanced their studies with work, family responsibilities and other commitments, demonstrating the determination and adaptability that will continue to serve them beyond university.
Dr Lillis said the variety of backgrounds and experiences represented at graduation is one of the University's greatest strengths.
"Our graduates are entering a world of work that continues to evolve, bringing new challenges and opportunities. Their time at TU Dublin has equipped them with practical skills, critical thinking and the ability to adapt and learn throughout their careers. I encourage them to embrace these opportunities with confidence and to remain connected with the University in the years ahead."
