TU Dublin Launches Inaugural President’s Volunteering Awards for 2026

TU Dublin will celebrate student volunteering across the University with the launch of the inaugural President’s Volunteering Awards (PVA) on Wednesday, 22 April 2026. For the first time, the awards will be personally endorsed by the President of TU Dublin, Dr Deirdre Lillis, highlighting the vital role that volunteering plays in student life and community engagement.

The inaugural President’s Volunteering Awards coincide with the United Nations’ International Volunteer Year (IVY) 2026, making the celebration a particularly meaningful opportunity to recognise the impact of student volunteers across TU Dublin and beyond.

The awards ceremony will take place in the Aungier Street Courtyard and will feature award presentations and guest speakers, bringing together students, staff, and community partners to celebrate the contribution of volunteers across the University.

Recognising Student Volunteering

Students who have volunteered both within and outside the University are encouraged to log their volunteering hours on www.studentvolunteer.ie.

 to ensure their contributions are recognised through the President’s Volunteering Awards.

To qualify, students must log a minimum of 20 hours of volunteering completed between May 2025 and April 2026. The deadline for logging hours is Monday, 13 April 2026, at 5pm.

Student Volunteering Awards

In addition to recognising volunteering hours, TU Dublin is also inviting students to apply for a series of Student Volunteering Awards that celebrate exceptional volunteering activities, projects, and initiatives. Winners will be selected by academic and professional staff across the University.

A Best Volunteering Photo award will also be presented, with a certificate and voucher prizes.

The deadline for applications for the Student Volunteering Awards is Thursday, 16 April 2026, at 5pm.
