TU Dublin was delighted to welcome Minister for Arts, Culture, Communications, Media and Sport, Patrick O'Donovan, to its Grangegorman campus for the official launch of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026 with Creative Ireland

The national launch event celebrated Ireland’s commitment to nurturing creativity in young people and highlighted the important role that education, arts and culture play in communities across the country. Hosted at our Grangegorman campus, the event brought together young artists, performers, musicians and creative organisations from across Ireland.

Cruinniú na nÓg, an initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme in partnership with local authorities and RTÉ, will take place on Saturday, 6 June 2026, with more than 1,300 free events happening nationwide. The programme encourages children and young people to explore creativity through music, visual art, theatre, circus, film, storytelling and digital media.

TU Dublin was proud to support the launch and to provide a platform for young creative voices to be celebrated. The University has a long-standing commitment to supporting the arts, creativity and cultural engagement through its teaching, research and community partnerships, particularly across its creative arts, media and performance disciplines.

The launch event featured performances from emerging young artists including Garageland Galaxyz performers Aerial and Eabha O’Keeffe, alongside representatives from Youth Theatre Ireland, Waterford Walls and Circus Explored. Guests also enjoyed performances and creative showcases from participants involved in this year’s programme.

The Grangegorman campus is a hub for creativity, collaboration and innovation and supports initiatives that connect education with culture and community engagement. TU Dublin was honoured to host the launch and looks forward to continuing its support for initiatives that empower young people through the arts and creativity.
