Positive Carbon Wins InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Ireland Funding
Start-up Company Positive Carbon has developed a fully automated food waste monitoring system that can save hotels and kitchens thousands of euro each month on their food bills as well as significantly reducing food waste in the industry.
The company is a participant in the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers programme run by TU Dublin Hothouse and IADT Media Cube.
At the Connacht and Leinster Regional Final of the InterTradeIreland Seedcorn Investor Readiness Competition, Roscommon-based Positive Carbon was crowned ‘Best New Start’. The company now goes on the all-island finals of Seedcorn with prizes of €50,000 for the winner of the Best Category while the Overall Winner receives a €100,000 investment.
Commenting on how the New Frontiers programme has contributed to the success of Positive Carbon, Co-Founder and COO Aisling Kirwan said. “The New Frontiers Programme helped to transform our business through mentorship, funding and training and to aid in future growth and from this, we have just won the regional ‘Best New Start’ with InterTradeIreland and secured Seedcorn Funding and are looking forward to taking part in the national competition.”
Adding to the company’s good news this week, Enterprise Ireland has awarded Positive Carbon the Competitive Start Fund (CSF). The purpose of the Competitive Start Fund is to assist start-up companies in reaching key milestones, develop key skills, and grow in international markets. Aisling Kirwan said, “We were delighted to find out that we have just secured the Competitive Start Fund from Enterprise Ireland. With support from National Funding Agencies and TU Dublin Hothouse / IADT Media Cube, we can effectively grow our business into new markets and develop new partnerships, products and services.
