Maths Competency Test, 01-03 September 2025

TU Dublin offers applicants to its Level 8 Engineering (General Entry) course (TU805) the chance to meet the maths requirement through the Mathematics Competency Test (MCT).
Applicants normally need a minimum H4 in Higher Level Maths. The MCT, set at Leaving Cert Higher Level standard, provides a free, optional way to meet this entry requirement. No extra CAO points are awarded, and the test can only be used for TU805.
The MCT takes place over three days on the University's Grangegorman Campus: two days of revision followed by the exam. Students must attend in person for all three days.
