TU Dublin Students Raise €3,900 for Saoirse Domestic Violence Services
Students from the School of Marketing and Entrepreneurship on the University’s Tallaght Campus have proudly presented a cheque for €3,900 to Saoirse Domestic Violence Services, following a year of student-led fundraising events on campus.
Throughout the academic year 2024/2025, as part of their events management module, students organised and hosted a variety of events to raise awareness and funds for the local charity, which provides crucial support to women and families affected by domestic abuse.
The cheque was presented to Lesley Barrett, Refuge Coordinator and Leanne Ryan, Outreach Prevention and Training Manager from Saoirse, at a gathering of students and staff on Thursday afternoon, 5th November. An additional impact of the students' work has been to raise awareness of the charity, and Leanne was delighted to announce that for the coming year, Saoirse are to be a charity partner for TU Dublin Students Union ( SU) for the academic year 2025-26
Each year, TU Dublin (SU) proudly selects a different charity partner through a vote by the TU Dublin SU Student Council. Once the charity partner is chosen, the SU is dedicated to organising a variety of RAG (Raise Awareness & Give) fundraising events and activities throughout the year, aiming to raise substantial funds and awareness for their partner.
