TU Dublin and Workday celebrated the achievements of over 100 Workday employees at a special graduation ceremony in the Concert Hall, East Quad, Grangegorman, on Thursday, 22 October 2026.

The ceremony recognised employees who successfully completed one of four programmes developed through the University's partnership with Workday: the Certificate in Creating Successful Products, Certificate in Leadership & Team Enablement, Postgraduate Certificate in Computing in Cybersecurity and Postgraduate Certificate in Science in Applied Machine Learning.

Addressing the ceremony, the President of TU Dublin, Dr Deirdre Lillis, congratulated the graduates, recognising the commitment involved in balancing professional responsibilities with further study. The President also welcomed Workday representatives Victoria MacKechnie, Fiona Melrose, John Clarke and Zoe O’Connor, and thanked Workday for its continued investment in the partnership.

Since 2021, the collaboration has supported several hundred graduates and evolved to meet Workday's changing skills requirements. Beginning with a bespoke leadership programme, it has expanded to include specialist education in product development, cybersecurity and applied machine learning.

The partnership reflects TU Dublin's commitment to practice-based education, bringing academic expertise and industry experience together to develop skills that can be applied directly in the workplace. Participants benefit from opportunities to share knowledge, build professional networks and translate learning into practical innovation.

The wider collaboration also extends to research, STEM education and digital inclusion, including the Centre for Sociology of Humans and Machines led by Professor Taha Yasseri, the Try Five+ STEM education programme and the Programme to Enhance Digital Literacy (PEDL).

The President acknowledged the contribution of academic and professional services staff across TU Dublin, including the Graduate Business School, the School of Informatics and Cybersecurity, and the School of Computer Science, who support the design and delivery of the programmes, and thanked Workday for its continued engagement with the University.

Congratulating the graduates, the President encouraged them to remain curious, embrace new challenges and continue investing in their professional development, noting that graduation is not simply a recognition of past achievements, but a foundation for future opportunities.
