TU Dublin Hosts Launch of National Network Supporting Migrants Accessing Further and Higher Education
TU Dublin Access and Outreach hosted the inaugural meeting of the newly established Migrant Further & Higher Education Support Network on 12 May. The Network brings together professionals from across Ireland who support migrants seeking pathways into further and higher education.
The initiative emerged from ongoing work by TU Dublin Access and Outreach to increase awareness of education opportunities and funding supports among migrant communities and the organisations that work with them. Following a scoping seminar held in May 2025, an interim facilitation group was established to develop the Network, culminating in the first official meeting and showcase event in May.
The Network Steering Committee is chaired by Gráinne Ward, lecturer in the School of Social Sciences, Law and Education, who works closely with Access and Outreach.
The Network now includes 130 members representing approximately 70 organisations nationwide, including higher and further education providers, local authorities, migrant support organisations, residential care providers, Tusla, and secondary schools.
