TU Dublin Sports Awards 2026

TU Dublin celebrated a fantastic year in sport at the 2026 Sports Awards on 30 April at the Aviva Stadium. Guest host on the evening, was Paralympic Gold Medallist and TU Dublin graduate, the amazing Ellen Keane. The evening  included a panel discussion on ‘Beyond the Sidelines: Women in Sport at Every Level’, with our student athletes & sport club committee members Angela McGuigan (Ladies Gaelic Football), Louise Little (Cricket), Avice Meya (Swimming) and Eibhlín Stockhil (Hockey), providing some fascinating insights into their sporting and academic journeys.

The event celebrated a great year in sport for TU Dublin, with 34 active sports clubs with a total of 5,335 student membership, delivering a massive 2,162 sporting events.  

TU Dublin students spent over4,252 hours in sporting activities across the academic year, with eight teams winning major titles:

  • Senior Ladies Gaelic Football: O’Connor Cup winners 
  • Men’s Basketball: Division 1 Intervarsity Champions and Freshers’ Intervarsity winners
  • Senior Hurlers: Division 2 League winners and Ryan Cup Champions
  • Men’s Hockey: Mauritius Cup winners
  • Freshers Hurling: All-Ireland Freshers Div. 2 Champions
  • Men’s Premier Soccer: Eustace Cup winners
  • Ultimate Frisbee: Mixed Outdoor Intervarsity Winners.

Huge congratulations to all our award winners on the night, in what has been an historic year of sport for the university, packed with some incredible successes both on and off the field of play! Thanks to all who attended on the night and made it a fantastic way to round off an excellent year.
