TU Dublin welcomes the announcement by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless T.D., of €65.8 million in funding under the new Targeted Enhancement Fund (TEF), including an allocation of €10 million for TU Dublin.

Dr Deirdre Lillis, President of TU Dublin, said the investment represents a significant commitment by the Government to supporting the strategic development of the Technological University sector and enabling TU Dublin to accelerate key enhancements that will benefit students, staff and the wider Dublin region.

“TU Dublin is delighted to receive €10 million under the Targeted Enhancement Fund. This investment comes at a pivotal moment in the evolution of our Technological University sector and will directly support our mission to deliver an inclusive, high-quality, practice-based education model that meets the needs of learners, industry and the communities we serve.”

Dr Lillis noted that the TEF will allow the University to strengthen capacity across several priority areas.

“This funding will enable us to advance our digital transformation agenda, deepen our data and business intelligence capabilities, expand professional development opportunities for our staff and enhance the support we provide to ensure all students can succeed and thrive at TU Dublin. It will also bolster our work on climate action, ensuring we continue to lead on sustainability while strengthening our reporting and monitoring frameworks.”

Dr Lillis paid tribute to the Minister and the Higher Education Authority for their role in shaping and advancing the funding initiative.

“The TEF recognises the distinct mission of Technological Universities and gives institutions like TU Dublin the targeted support required to advance our strategic ambitions and to further embed innovation, excellence and regional impact at the heart of what we do. We are especially grateful to Minister Lawless and to Dr Alan Wall, CEO of the HEA, for their continued support, dedication and commitment to the sector.”
