Towards a Smoke Free Campus

In line with the Department of Health’s Tobacco Free Ireland Policy, which aims to promote tobacco-free campuses for all third-level institutions, the campus introduced a smoke free zone on campus from September 2020.

Smoking or Vaping will no longer be permitted in the smoke free zone, with the exception of the designated smoking area to the rear of Block C (“Croí”), as illustrated below.

Tobacco Free Ireland (TFI) was launched in October 2013. It sets a target for Ireland to have a smoking prevalence rate of less than 5% by 2025, effectively making the country a tobacco free society.
