
TU Dublin hosts three graduate training weeks every year, and Library Services is always strongly represented across the week, offering support to students throughout their PhD on a range of topics. The final training week of 2024/25 academic year takes place between Monday, 26 May to Thursday, 29 May.

Introduction to Library Services
Róisín Guilfoyle, Research Support Librarian, will welcome students with an overview of TU Dublin Library Services.
Tuesday, 27 May
Introduction to Data Management
Gerard Connolly, Data Librarian, will provide an introductory session on effective data management practices.
Workshop: Writing a Narrative CV & Responsible Use of Metrics
Aoife Quinn Hegarty, Research Indicators Librarian, will guide students through crafting a narrative CV and understanding the responsible use of research metrics.
Wednesday, 28 May
Starting your Research
Students will explore how to begin their research journey. Speakers include:
- Róisín Guilfoyle, Research Support Librarian – Search and Literature Review.
- Julie de Foubert, Faculty Liaison Librarian – Current Awareness and Researcher Profile.
Panel Discussion: Getting Published
Róisín Guilfoyle will represent Library Services in a panel discussion on academic publishing, alongside TU Dublin academic leaders.
Workshop: Working in an Open Research Environment
Aisling Coyne, Open Scholarship Librarian, will deliver a session on open scholarship and adopting open research practices.

Active Data Management: Tools and Exercises
Gerard Connolly will present practical resources and exercises to support active data management.
