New National Open Access Agreement Guide Available for TU Dublin Researchers

Published: Thursday 8 October 2026 - 10:30

The Library Research Services team has launched an updated version of its Open Access Publishing Agreements Guide, making it easier for TU Dublin researchers to find information on Open Access publishing opportunities available through the university.

As a member of the IReL consortium of Irish academic libraries, TU Dublin participates in a range of Open Access publishing agreements with major scholarly publishers. These agreements allow TU Dublin corresponding authors to publish Open Access in participating journals without paying Article Processing Charges (APCs), subject to the terms of each agreement. The redesigned National Open Access Agreements (IReL) guide provides clear, publisher-specific information in an easy-to-navigate format. Each publisher now has a dedicated page containing key details, including:

  • Annual Quotas
  • Eligibility criteria
  • Journal coverage
  • Licensing

Researchers with questions about a specific publishing agreement can contact publisherapprovals@tudublin.ie.

For general enquiries about open access publishing, contact Maeve Kerins, Scholarly Communications Librarian at maeve.kerins@tudublin.ie.
