Applications Open for Ireland’s Leading Early-Career Research Network: Young Academy Ireland
Applications are now open for membership in the Young Academy Ireland (YAI), the country’s foremost interdisciplinary network of early career researchers and innovators (ECRIs). This prestigious organisation, established under the aegis of the Royal Irish Academy, is inviting the next cohort of exceptional individuals to apply by Friday, 25th September 2025.
Founded in 2023, YAI brings together talented early career professionals across all disciplines; sciences, humanities, arts, engineering, health, and beyond committed to working collaboratively to address major societal challenges.

Selection Process:
Applications will undergo a rigorous four-stage assessment process:
- Eligibility Review
- Individual Panel Assessments: Each application is independently evaluated by three reviewers.
- Panel Deliberation: A holistic review and shortlisting of top candidates
- Final Approval: Recommendations are made to the Royal Irish Academy Council.
With 41 current members elected in the inaugural 2023 cohort, the Young Academy Ireland is fast becoming a hub for cross-sector innovation and impact. Successful applicants will join a vibrant and engaged community shaping Ireland’s academic, policy, and innovation landscape.
