TU Dublin Launches Fully Funded Community Engaged Research Digital Badges and MicroCredential
Researchers, staff, PhD students, and community partners at TU Dublin now can enhance their collaborative research skills through a new suite of fully funded professional development programmes in Community Engaged Research (CER). Developed by TU Dublin’s Research Engagement and Impact Office, the new online Digital Badges and Micro-credential programme aims to strengthen researchers’ capacity to work alongside communities in addressing real-world challenges and creating meaningful societal impact.
The initiative has been created through the TOGETHERNESS Erasmus+ project, an international collaboration focused on advancing community-engaged approaches in higher education and research. As part of the programme, participants will join an international online learning environment and engage with peers and community organisations from across Europe. The learning opportunities are designed for TU Dublin staff and PhD researchers interested in collaborative research practices, as well as community partners already involved in research projects with the university.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn in an international online environment, to:
- Explore community engaged research and its role in addressing societal challenges
- Develop skills in collaboration, co-design, and partnership working
- Connect with community organisations and international research peers
- Develop research ideas responsive to societal needs and priorities
Applicants can choose to complete individual Digital Badges, beginning with Badge 1 and/or Badge 2, or pursue a postgraduate-level Micro-credential worth 5 ECTS credits. Places are limited, with only 30 participants available on each badge programme.
To provide further information about the opportunities, TU Dublin will host an online information webinar on Tuesday, 30th June, from 1pm to 2pm (IST).
Applications for the Digital Badges and Micro-credential are currently open, with a closing date of Monday, 13th July 2026.
