AIB and TU Dublin Entrepreneurship for People with Disabilities Programme.
Started in 2021, this programme has been successfully rolled out across four iterations. This initiative is hosted and delivered online by TU Dublin through its Continuing Professional Development programme. It is open to anyone who identifies as having a disability and wishes to start their own business. The course is oversubscribed each year and is capped to 20 places to ensure that students receive one-to-one support and mentorship (through the Local Enterprise Office) to realise their entrepreneurial ambitions. It is free to those accepted to the programme thanks to the funding provided by AIB (from 2022-2024). This initiative was co-founded and is proudly supported by the Open Doors Initiative.
TU Dublin Entrepreneurship Course for Refugees and Asylum Seekers.
This online course, started in 2023, is targeted at those with refugee or asylum seeker status who intend to start their own business. This initiative has achieved a successful second year roll out and is hosted and delivered online by TU Dublin through its Continuing Professional Development programme. It is funded by TU Dublin in partnership with Broadlake (Dublin-based investment company). This initiative offers tailored mentoring which is delivered through the Open Doors Initiative. The course is open to anyone who has a refugee/asylum seeker status and has a business idea that they wish to evaluate as a sustainable enterprise.
NEIC (North East Inner City)Kickstart Entrepreneurship Programme.
Launched in December 2023, the NEIC Kickstart Entrepreneurship Programme is geared at those who want to turn their idea into self-employment whilst earning a qualification from TU Dublin and are aged 18 to 30 years old and live in the North East Inner City of Dublin. The programme is delivered in partnership with TU Dublin GROWTHhub, the Dublin NEIC Task Force, Inner City Enterprise, the Open Doors Initiative, and Dogpatch Labs. The key objective of the programme is to help the student to prepare for a career in entrepreneurship. Students that successfully complete the programme requirements will graduate from NEIC Kickstart with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from TU Dublin.
