Plasma PLUS members, Postdoc Dr. Janith Wanigasekara and PhD student Ms. Natalia Bednarz, have attended the Irish Association of Cancer Research (IACR) Annual Conference 2026 at the Galway Bay Hotel, Galway (Wednesday 25th - Friday 27th 2026).

IACR

Dr. Janith Wanigasekara delivered an engaging oral presentation on "OVERCOMING DRUG RESISTANCE IN GLIOBLASTOMA: NON-THERMAL MODALITIES AND LIPOSOMAL DRUG DELIVERY IN 3D SPHEROID PLATFORMS", showcasing the wide range of research performed by our group. His oral presentation was received very well with multiple fascinating questions and discussions post presentation.

Ms. Natalia Bednarz presented her poster presentation on how "Cold Atmospheric Plasma Enhances the Anticancer Properties of Pyrazolopyrimidinones". The poster has showcased the work completed during her short-term scientific mission at the University of Tübingen, funded by the Cost Action PlasTHER. Her work on novel anticancer Pyrazolopyrimidinones in combination with Plasma-Treated Water for the treatment of Glioblastoma got much attention at the poster sessions, and even got Shortlisted for the Best Display Poster Price!
