Plasma PLUS at the International Prostate Cancer Symposium (When Translational Research Meets Therapeutic Innovation)
Our PhD candidate Shengxin Zhang participated in the International Prostate Cancer Symposium (When Translational Research Meets Therapeutic Innovation) held on 28–29 April 2026, as well as APCCC 2026 from 30 April to 2 May 2026, both held in Lugano, Switzerland. During these meetings, she presented her research in a poster format. These conferences brought together leading experts in prostate cancer research and clinical practice, providing a platform for the exchange of recent advances in translational oncology and therapeutic innovation.

The poster presentation focused on ongoing work exploring combination strategies for prostate cancer treatment, with particular emphasis on integrating small-molecule androgen receptor (AR) antagonists with cold atmospheric plasma (CAP). CAP is an emerging and rapidly advancing modality in cancer research, attracting increasing attention for its ability to generate reactive species under near-room-temperature conditions and its reported selective anti-tumour effects in prostate cancer models. By combining targeted molecular inhibition with this novel plasma-based approach, the study aims to address the persistent challenge of therapeutic resistance in PCa. These interactions contribute to refining research directions and support the continued development of translational strategies for prostate cancer therapy.
