Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateways works in partnership with Technological Universities and Institutes of Technology across Ireland. Our 17 specialised Gateways and 3 sectoral clusters deliver innovation expertise and solutions for Irish industry.

The Technology Gateway Network focus on key technology areas, aligned to industry needs in areas such as mobile, polymers, photonics, coatings, industrial design, mechatronics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, wireless technologies and precision engineering. Each centre works in conjunction with industry to aid the research and development of innovative products and services through a dedicated team of full-time researchers and engineers.

MiCRA is part of Irish Food Tech Cluster. 

The Irish Food Tech Cluster is composed of of seven Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateways, specialising in food and beverages technology. The cluster presents extensive resources for Research, Development, and Innovation projects tailored to the food industry. Each centre offers assistance and support in delivering near-to-market solutions, becoming an important extension of your company’s R&D capability. Key areas of expertise include bioprocessing, food for health, process control, and packaging amongst many others.

The cluster enables Irish companies of all sizes to access expert knowledge and advanced technologies to upgrade food safety, enhance product quality, and drive innovation in response to market demands. The Irish Food Tech team comprises of 7 Gateway Managers and a diverse group of Business Development researchers and engineers who collaborate closely with industry partners to promote innovation. Their teamwork plays a critical role in strengthening Ireland food sector research and development, ensuring it remains competitive in the global market.
