TY News Programme
The TY News website (TYNews.ie) has been developed to share and celebrate students’ work while they develop their literacy skills and gain an understanding of journalism and the media. It is an opportunity to share and celebrate students’ work publicly while encouraging an interest in reading, writing, sharing their opinions and creating content rather than just consuming it.
Participating schools create a school profile and students can publish articles about any topic they are interested in within that profile. Students can read other schools’ content and like articles. One article will be featured on the homepage and the author will receive a token of appreciation.
Participants are invited to attend a workshop that will help them to write articles for public consumption, this will be facilitated by the School of Media.
