Launch of GenAI Community of Practice

The launch of the GenAI Community of Practice (COP) will take place on Monday, 19 May from 2-4pm in Grangegorman (CQ-010) and online. Attendees are asked to register in advance using this form so that the organisers can plan accordingly for the numbers attending in person and online.
This community of practice provides staff from across the University with an opportunity to learn from each other and share practice regarding their use of GenAI. The Community of Practice aims to explore and advance the use of Generative AI tools in all functions of the university, including administration, teaching, learning and assessment. All academic staff, professional services staff and researchers with an interest in the ethical use of Generative AI are invited to join.
The agenda for the launch is as follows:
- 2pm-2:15pm: Introduction to the CoP, Scope and Focus, Dr. Paul Doyle
- 2:15pm-2:45pm: What is GENAI, A Primer, Dr Susan McKeever
- 2:45pm-3:15pm: The Potential of AI to Reconfigure Research and Teaching, Dr PJ Wall
- 3:15pm-3:25pm: Accessing the CoP repository and updates, Dr Steve Meaney
- 3:25pm-4pm: Facilitated Discussion & Feedback with Tea/Coffee
