Synthesis and characterization of multifunctional nanoparticles: noble metal nanoparticles, magnetic nanoparticles, semiconductor nanoparticles, upconversion nanoparticles, silica, multicore and multishell nanoparticles, functionalization of nanoparticles with organic ligands, nanoparticle dimers, plasmonic fluorescence enhancement / increasing the photostability of nanoparticles, investigation of nanoparticles with synchrotron radiation (X-ray microscopy, XMCD), multivalent interactions between ligands and nanoparticles or planar surfaces, biological interactions of nanoparticles, ordered nanoparticle structures.
