TU Dublin Conservatoire Handel's "Messiah" 05/06/2025
"A truly special evening at Brownlow House, Lurgan, as the TU Dublin Conservatoire Choral Society and Chamber Ensemble presented Handel’s Messiah in the grandeur of the historic ballroom"
Set against the backdrop of this remarkable venue, the evening beautifully blended classical music and heritage with a nod to Lurgan’s own William Brownlow, who famously played the harpsichord at the premiere of Messiah in Dublin in 1742.
The event featured an exceptional 50 strong ensemble comprising Technological University Dublin conservatoire students and staff at the University. Guests were treated to an elegant afternoon tea before the performance. Our inaugural Messiah performance took place at the TU Dublin Concert hall at the Grangegorman campus.
A huge thank you to:
Rachel Talbot for her impeccable organisation, Simon Harden for his inspiring leadership as conductor, Celine Kelly for her magnificent performance on harpsichord, and our wonderful Chamber Ensemble led by violinist David O’Doherty.
Proud to be part of this unforgettable experience that brought music, history, and community together.
