About:

Dr Gaël Le Roux is a Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at the Technological University Dublin. He specialises in the area of drug and alcohol policies, drug prevention and addiction recovery. Gaël has been involved in the development of several degrees, including the Community Development and Youth Work Degree (Hons), and designed its “Addiction Studies” strand. He delivers modules in each year of this four-year degree. He also lectures in the Social Care degrees and the Certificate in Independent Living Skills course.

He is Director and Chairperson of the Board of Management of The Tolka River Project, an Addiction Recovery Centre, in Dublin 15.

Alcohol and Drug Use Prevention in schools and youth work settings

Community support regarding addiction recovery

Family support in relation to addiction within families and to drug-debt intimidation.

Second language acquisition for students with learning disabilities
