Aíne Conaghan

Assistant Lecturer

Dr Aíne Conaghan is an Assistant Lecturer on the Hainan University - TU Dublin International Collaborative Education Programme in China, where she contributes to the delivery of transnational higher education within the BSc in Event Management. After an early period in academia, Aíne spent several years working internationally across industry and self‑employment. This professional foundation broadened her perspective and informs her applied, relational and industry‑engaged approach to teaching.

Aíne’s research background is in the sustainable management of tourism destinations, reflecting a long‑standing commitment to responsible, place‑sensitive development. She contributes to academic quality through external examining and peer‑review for academic journals. Aíne maintains an active commitment to lifelong learning, continually upskilling to bring fresh, relevant and practice aligned perspectives that ensure her teaching remains responsive to the evolving needs of students, industry and international collaborative education.
