Qualifications: BSc., MSc., PhD

In my role as senior lecturer I lead a number of modules including Critical and Responsible Management, a module focusing on ethics, responsibility and sustainability in business. I am the PRME lead within the Faculty of business. Following a research scholarship in 2015 which assessed the best practice in teaching ethics and the process of becoming signatories of PRME, I lead the Faculty’s process to becoming a PRME member in 2019 and was responsible for the Faculty’s first Progress Report in 2021. Ethics and social responsibility in business has always been a key area of interest for me, my PhD which I obtained in 2010 was focused on Corporate Social Responsibility and assessing the link between CSR and financial performance.

I also teach a number of Data Analyitcs modules within the Faculty including Analytics and Emerging Technologies on the Executive MBA programme. I enjoy supervising research and supervise capstone projects and undergraduate and postgraduate level. I have supervised 3 PhD’s to completion and I am currently supervising a PhD evaluating the charity sector in Ireland and giving culture in Ireland.

In the News

October 2022: Last week, Dr Lorraine Sweeney and Dr Etain Kidney announced the creation of a PhD research programme with Giving Ireland investigating how nonprofits are impacted by the culture of giving and donating in Ireland. As Ireland experiences significant societal change and the operational environment of nonprofits grows increasingly complex, the programme combines industry with academia to address several of the nonprofit sector's most pressing issues, namely, how to scale giving to be transformative, moving into a digital society sustainably.
