Dr Bahareh Pahlevanzadeh, presently working as a lecturer in the School of Informatics & CyberSecurity, TUDublin. She has several years of teaching & research experience & also some executive job experience (IT manager& Head of Research Group, Member of ICT Governance Council) in leading academic institutes.
Bahareh received her PhD Degree majoring in Computer Networks & Communication Protocols from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), in 2014. She was honoured with a fellowship award, as the first-class honours for her master’s degree, 2007. Her PhD thesis was about Quality of Service, Traffic Engineering of Next Generation High-Speed Networks, entitled Per-Priority Flow Control (PPFC) Framework for Enhancing QoS in Metropolitan Ethernet."" Her master’s thesis, entitled ""Distributed Hierarchical Intrusion Detection System (IDS) for MANET. She received Grant/Research Fund from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, and Japan from 2007-2012. She was a researcher and head of USM-IT-Technical-Team in WIDE-SOI Japan and Asian Countries, 2008-2011; and a senior research fellow of Nav6 Centre, USM, Malaysia, 2007-2013. Since then, she taught various computer sciences courses (i.e., Computer Networks, Cryptography and Network Security, Internet Engineering, etc.) in different inter(national) universities to undergraduate as well as graduate students. She has vast professional research experience and supervised several Master and PhD theses.
Her research interests are Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Software Defined Networking (SDN) and applying Soft Computing/Artificial Intelligence approaches in Next Generation Networks for Enhancing Security and QoS Performance.
Her most recent book, ""Data Analysis in the Cloud"" published in 2021, can be used by young researchers at different academic levels. She has published more than 20 high-quality papers in refereed international journals and led international conference proceedings (Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=o20m4XQAAAAJ&hl=en). She has been a reviewer for various International academic Journals (Journal of Supercomputing, IEEE Access, JIST, IJISM, JICTP, Wireless communications and mobile computing, etc.)
