School to continue offering funded Springboard+ courses in 2022/2023

Published: 31 May, 2022

The School will be offering funded places on our upskilling and reskilling programmes in Applied Statistics and Data Analysis for Professionals starting from September 2022. Applications are being accepted now.

The School of Mathematical Sciences has been successfully providing upskilling, reskilling and professional programmes designed to support better employment opportunities for over 10 years.  Recently, it has once again been awarded funding which will support new learners on its two programmes Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Statistics and CPD Diploma in Data Analysis for Professionals.  The support is provided by the government-funded Springboard+ initiative.

The continuing support for the School's programmes underlines the importance of mathematical and statistical skills to the economy and to meet the demand for highly-skilled professionals with technical and mathematical skills for solving today's problems.  Delivery of our programmes is flexible and online, designed to support those returning to work.   The government backing means that the programmes are free or heavily subsidised for all eligible applicants.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Statistics is designed to teach the advanced techniques and statistical tools required to analyse different data sets and scenarios, building accurate and robust statistical mathematical models.  It is supported by the use of statistical software allowing students to critically analyse, interpret and draw conclusions from a statistical data set.  It prepares graduates for technical professional roles in industry and research.

The CPD Diploma in Data Analysis for Professionals caters for individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, for example, business, accounting and finance, science and engineering who wish to develop the knowledge and technical skills required for statistical data analysis. It teaches practical data analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to interpret the results of statistical analysis.  Students will learn data wrangling techniques and how to extract information from a data set.  Working as part of a team they will gain practical experience by analysing a real-life data set provided by industry.

Applications are via the Springboard+ site.  A full list of TU Dublin's Springboard-funded programmes can be found here
