Welcome to our new first-year undergraduates studying TU874 Mathematical Sciences

Published: 27 Sep, 2021

On Monday 27 September 2021 we were delighted to welcome our new intake of first-year students to TU874 BSc (Hons) Mathematical Sciences.

Congratulation to all our new students who applied via the CAO and were accepted onto our full-time undergraduate programme, BSc (Hons) Mathematical Sciences.  We are delighted to be welcoming you to the School's new home in Central Quad, Grangegorman!

Last year was extremely hard for everyone due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the School recognises the hard work all its students put in to achieve their college goals.  We wish every one of our students success over the next four years and are excited that, this year, students will be embarking upon their studies in brand new facilities that were purpose-built for TU Dublin to provide the latest technology and approaches to education.

Our students are embarking on an exciting journey.  The programme TU874 BSc (Hons) Mathematical Sciences offers exciting opportunities to study a wide range of pure and applied mathematics, statistics and operations research but, importantly, also aims to develop a deep-rooted enjoyment and appreciation of mathematical Sciences.  In addition to mathematical knowledge and technical skills, our students develop their independence and their employability skills, such as the ability to analyse and formulate solution strategies for complex problems and communication skills. They will also embark upon a full-time work placement in their third year to develop their abilities to work successfully in future in a professional setting with colleagues.

We look forward to celebrating the successes of this latest cohort of students throughout their journey.
