TU Dublin Academic Receives Prestigious Mexicanos Distinguidos Honour

TU Dublin is delighted to congratulate Dr Fernando Perez Tellez of the School of Enterprise Computing and Digital Transformation on the University’s Tallaght Campus on receiving the “Mexicanos Distinguidos” (Distinguished Mexicans) recognition, an official honour granted by the Government of Mexico through the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IMME).

This prestigious award honours Mexican nationals who have resided abroad for at least five consecutive years and whose professional achievements have brought international recognition to Mexico. It recognises individuals who have excelled in fields such as science, technology, academia, business, arts, culture, sports, and social innovation, with a focus on global impact and the strengthening of ties between Mexico and the international community.

Dr Perez Tellez has demonstrated exceptional dedication over the last decade to enhancing research and academic collaborations between Mexico and Ireland. His work has significantly contributed to advancing impactful research, fostering international partnerships, and ensuring that future generations benefit from the strong connections being built today.

Recipients of the “Mexicanos Distinguidos” honour are presented with a silver medal, specially minted by Mexico’s Casa de Moneda, along with a formal certificate from the IMME. The award is typically presented in a public ceremony organised by the local Mexican embassy or consulate.
