TU Dublin Celebrates Access to Apprenticeship Graduates
Twelve students have graduated from TU Dublin's Access to Apprenticeship programme, marking a significant milestone as the University celebrates the initiative's successful return after a number of years.

The graduates were presented with their parchments at a special ceremony in St Laurence's, on TU Dublin's Grangegorman Campus, attended by University President Dr Deirdre Lillis and Dean and Director of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Apprenticeships, Dr Paul Doyle.

Delivered by the School of Mechanical Engineering and funded by the Higher Education Authority, the programme offers participants an alternative route into apprenticeships and skilled-trade careers. The event recognised the dedication and achievements of the 12 graduates who successfully completed the programme.
For many of the graduates, the occasion was particularly significant, as they became the first members of their families to attend university and achieve a qualification of this kind. The programme has already opened doors to new opportunities, with graduates progressing into employment, apprenticeships in areas including plumbing, electrical work, scaffolding and pipefitting, as well as further education.

Reflecting on their experiences, students spoke about the confidence, skills and opportunities they had gained through the programme. One graduate described the experience as having "changed my life", while another spoke enthusiastically about securing employment with an excellent company and supportive colleagues.
TU Dublin's Access to Apprenticeship programme is designed to support participants in exploring apprenticeship opportunities, developing practical skills and gaining the confidence and experience needed to progress into training and employment. By combining practical learning with personal and professional development, the programme helps participants identify career pathways and take their first steps towards rewarding careers in skilled trades.
The graduation represents an important achievement for the students and highlights TU Dublin's commitment to widening participation in higher education and creating accessible pathways into apprenticeships and employment.
