TU Dublin Hosting EUt+ week, Celebrating Our European University Alliance
TU Dublin are looking forward to hosting the EUt+ (European University of Technology) partners at our campus in Grangegorman between 29 June and 03 July 2026, supporting members of our European University Alliance to accelerate our capacity building towards a truly European University.
The timing of our physical week in Dublin coincides with the date that Ireland takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Cyprus on 01 July 2026. To play our role in this important occasion in demonstrating Ireland’s enduring commitment to partnership, cooperation and progress in Europe we have invited Minister Thomas Byrne, Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence at the Department of the Taoiseach, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Department of Defence deliver our keynote speech.
The visit of the Minister and keynote will be followed by a high-level panel discussion on ‘Shaping Europe Through Higher Education and Future Skills’. This panel discussion will explore how Europe’s universities can prepare young people for a fast-changing world while safeguarding democratic values, with a particular focus on future skills, educational mobility and the growing influence of technologies, such as AI on learning, work and civic life.
EUt+ is one of Europe’s 73 European University Alliances, a flagship initiative of the European Strategy for Universities that brings together higher education institutions from across the continent to strengthen European cooperation, innovation and educational excellence. Our alliance comprises nine partner universities: University of Technology of Troyes (France), Technological University Dublin (Ireland), Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Spain), Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus), Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria), Riga Technical University (Latvia), and the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (Italy).
TU Dublin is working with these institutions to create an integrated ‘European University’ through joint degrees, enhanced mobility opportunities, collaborative research and innovation, and coordinated approaches to addressing major societal and technological challenges facing Europe.
Parallel to the normal programme of workshops and meetings, TU Dublin will host student entrepreneurship and incubation training that will culminate in a showcase and competition final of incubation projects in the Central Quad building.
