Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Training & Workshops

TRAINING DELIVERED

by the Institute of Project Management 

Over the last number of months, TU Dublin (led by the Partnerships team) has been working with the Institute of Project Management (IPM) to further enhance our strong partnership which will see TU Dublin continue to accredit their professional courses.  

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is excited to announce that this partnership will see the Institute of Project Management provide, to TU Dublin Staff, a number short courses each year for the next 5 years on:

Initial places will be offered to those working on our Transformation Projects and Programmes and then all remaining places will be made available to all staff. Application to attend these courses will be through CORE, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. 

Certificates of completion from the IPM will be made available to all who complete these courses.

Confirmed dates for 2026 are as follows: 

IPM Sponsorship half day - 27/05/2026

IPM PM Foundations 1-day - 05/02/26

IPM Programme Mgt One Day - 21/05/2026

All courses locations will be confirmed on training advertisements.

TRAINING DELIVERED by the PMO

The Portfolio Management Office team delivers in person project management fundamentals training in the form of presentation with an interactive workshop.

The target audience is TU Dublin staff who are currently working on projects, or who are expected to be in the near future. By the end of the course participants should have developed fundamental awareness of:

  1. How to determine what is, and is not, a project
  2. Basic Project management principles and the TU Dublin Project Delivery Framework
  3. Roles and responsibilities in managing projects
  4. How the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) can support project manager

NOTE:

Courses are scheduled to take place in all campuses. Course availability is announced by the People Development team.

We would encourage anyone who will be involved in projects and has not attended one of these events to register for the upcoming event.   ​
