Library Services Research Services March Events 2025

Library Services collaborates extensively with various groups and organisations, conducting workshops, delivering presentations, and participating in panel discussions on topics such as Open Research and Artificial Intelligence. Earlier this month, Aisling Coyne, Open Scholarship Librarian at TU Dublin, took part in Unlocking Knowledge Through Open Access, organised by the library Association of Ireland Open Scholarship group. The Research Services team have two upcoming events taking place in March 2025.

Event 1: How to Write a Narrative CV

Time & Venue: 27th March 14.00 - 16.00, Online via Teams

Who should attend: Researchers and research-active staff at all stages of their career development.

Course Description: Led by Research Indicators Librarian, Aoife Quinn Hegarty, this session focuses on what a narrative CV is, how to develop one, what to include and more importantly what to exclude.

Event 2: AI Coffee Morning

Time &Venue: March 28th, 10.00 - 11.30, Online via Zoom

Description: The SCONUL AI coffee mornings allow library colleagues to come together, share experiences and ask questions, exploring these tools and techniques as a community. These are not expert forums but for sharing information and experiences as practitioners and they are open to all, whatever your role or level of expertise.

The March Coffee Morning will be led by the SCONUL AI and information literacy CIG who will also be joined by three speakers who will share the developments from their institutions:

Róisín Guilfoyle, Research Support Librarian at Technological University Dublin, will talk about their work on AI and information literacy for researchers and academics. The other speakers are

Patrick Keegan, Learning and Teaching Specialist Librarian at RSCI, will talk about some on the guidance and workshops they’ve been developing around prompts.

Giada Zanella, Information Specialist at Aston University, will talk about how they have produced an e-learning pathway to support students and researchers with AI, information literacy and assessment in collaboration with colleagues in their Learning and Development Centre, the Centre for English Language and Communication, and student volunteers.
