Microbiological
The Microbiological Suite in HEMS is fitted with Class II Biological Safety Cabinets and laminar airflow fume hoods. The microbiological suite is suited to work on DNA extraction and analysis; class one microorganisms and bioanalysis projects.
There is a dedicated Class II laboratory, warm room and cold room also available for use within the microbiological suite.

The Cell Culture Laboratory is a self contained laboratory containing 4 Class II Biological safety cabinets, assigned centrifuges and CO2 incubators.
The dark room is situated off the main microbiological laboratory and currently houses the following instruments:

The Class II Laboratory in HEMS is a dedicated laboratory where work using Class II microorganism may take place. It contains a dedicated Class II laminar air-flow cabinet, sample storage, -80deg.C freezer, autoclaves, centrifuges and a Synergy H1 mulitplate reader.
