Wellbeing and mental health
Aiden Carthy, Director of The Research Centre For Psychology, Education And Emotional Intelligence
Broad research area and interests:
Wellbeing, with a focus on enabling people and societies to reach their maximum potential. Research that can help improve people’s physical and mental health, their finances and their social connections (SDGs 3, 4, and 5 in particular). See www.tudublin.ie/peei for further information
- You can find more information on my research here.
What societal groups do you aim to positively affect and support through collaborative research?
As wellbeing is an issue that impacts everyone, we can potentially partner with any group. We have a particular interest in research in educational contexts – e.g. early years services, schools, or lifelong learning.
How might your involvement in engaged research support these groups?
Improving supports for mental health and other areas of wellbeing, through the design, development and testing of the impact/effectiveness of activities or programmes. Mapping communities’ mental health and wellbeing needs. Collaboratively designing and developing coaching for mental health and emotional intelligence.
